week LSM expanded its Radio network by acquiring four new FM Licenses
From the Audio Visual Council (CNA) Which is the equivalent of the
FCC in the U.S. The four new cities, Cobadin, Harlau, Negresti, and
Sulina expand the LSM Radio Network to 25 Cities in Romania. These
cities were chosen for their strategic location. Sulina which will
broadcast at 93.6 FM and Cobadin which will broadcast at 103.5 FM
are of particular importance because of their location on the Black
Sea. Sulina is in the Delta region near the eastern border with Ukraine.
This area is known for its natural beauty, one of the few Deltas of
its size in the world making it a top tourist area in Romania. Cobadin
is also near the Black Sea and a neighboring city to Constanta which
is a Romanian "Panama City" or "Daytona Beach."
Thousands of young people flock to this area in the summer months.
The strategic location of these cities will create an excellent opportunity
for spreading the Gospel in the Black Sea area to thousands of locals
and tourists who will have access to 24-hour commercial-free Christian
Radio. Harlau is in the northeastern area of Romania not far form
the border with Moldova where LSM has been operating its 13 FM stations
since 1994. Harlau will broadcast at 94.0 FM and along with Suceava
which was acquired last year (AM 1584), Radauti (AM 1584) and Piatra
Neamt (AM 1602), it will cover much of this northeastern region referred
to as the Romanian Moldova. Negresti is in the northwestern part of
Romania near the northern boarder with Ukraine. In this region, LSM
will broadcast at 94.0 FM along with Sighet which was acquired early
in LSM's acquisition process (AM 1584). The importance of this region
is that from these two stations, LSM radio will even be heard in Ukrainian
cities on the border with Romania. This area known as Bucovina, will
now be covered by two stations 24 hours a day commercial-free. We
